Lots of hard work was put into the latest Mac version of Microsoft Office, and it shows. Office 2011 for Mac more closely mirrors the design of the PC version of Office (as you can see by Microsoft Word for Mac shown), but it still includes everything you’d demand from a native OS X application (such as Pages from iWork, which is Apple’s competing office productivity suite). 'The minimum supported macOS for Office 2016 for Mac is 10.10 (Yosemite).' But none of the 16.16 versions (Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc) work. They install and then on load, they hang and the crash reporter comes up.

macOS Support¶
The current Apache OpenOffice supports Apple OS X version10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion), 10.9 (Mavericks), 10.10 (Yosemite),10.11 (El Capitan) and macOS 10.12 (Sierra), 10.13 (High Sierra),10.14 (Mojave), 10.15 (Catalina).
Outlook 2016 for mac not connecting to exchange 2010. It does indeed look like Outlook 2016 for Mac (included in Office 365 for Mac) supports Exchange 2010, but it needs to be Exchange 2010 SP3; this means previous Exchange 2010 versions might or might not work, but they are not supported.
The last OpenOffice version supporting Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger),10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard) is OpenOffice 4.0.1.
